Get to Know Me

Jonathon Elmquist was born and raised in the Texas Panhandle. He graduated from West Texas A&M in 2015 with his Master's in Social Work. Jonathon has been a hospice social worker for the past 7 years and has helped numerous families through the grief process.

As a hospice social worker, Jonathon has seen unmet needs in the community. This is what has encouraged him to start Forward Healing. This is a private practice that wants to help folks find peace in their life. He has the long-term goal of training and precepting counselors here in Amarillo as well as bridging the gap between the mental health and the medical community.

Jonathon enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He is a member of Senior Ambassadors Coalition, Amarillo Area Association of Mental Health, and an active church member. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, working in the yard, and watching football.
